The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps travelers from Stafford Springs plan a winter escape from the Connecticut cold, with villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort on St. John in the US Virgin Islands. Ask the local team anything before you book.
Winters in northern Connecticut can feel long, grey, and sharp, and many people from Stafford Springs start to dream of a place where the air is warm and the days feel slower. St. John, one of the US Virgin Islands, offers that kind of change. Its climate stays warm through the cooler months, which is exactly why so many travelers from the Northeast look for a winter escape there. Staying at the Westin St John Resort gives you a base on the island, and villa rentals give you room to settle in for a week rather than rushing through a short trip. You can cook a few meals, spread out, and wake up without a winter alarm. If you want to understand what your stay will feel like before committing, the St John Condos team is glad to talk it through with you.

Planning your winter escape from Stafford Springs
- Reaching St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry crosses to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for this connection as part of your day of travel, and keep a bag of essentials with you in case your luggage needs a little extra time to catch up. Once you land, the island feels close and easy to reach.
- Choosing your departure. Think about how much of Connecticut's winter you want to leave behind. Leaving during the deepest cold can make the contrast feel especially welcome, while a slightly later trip may suit families with school calendars. Consider the weather you prefer on the island as well, and let that guide the week you pick for your villa.
- Planning your stay. Villas are rented by the week, so decide early how many nights you want and who will be traveling with you. Think about groceries, rental cars, and how you will move around, remembering that driving on St. John is on the left. Ask the St John Condos team about the villa that fits your group before you book.
