The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help friends from Hazardville, Connecticut, plan a shared week of villa living at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, answering questions before you book.
A week away with friends asks for a place that gives everyone room to spread out and still come together at the end of the day. For travelers from Hazardville, a Connecticut city in the Northeast, that often means leaving a cold stretch of the year behind and heading somewhere warm and unhurried. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort make that kind of shared trip easier to shape, because the group can settle into one home base rather than juggling separate hotel rooms. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, the airport code STT, then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. It is a simple sequence once you know it, and the St John Condos team is glad to walk your group through each step. Driving on the island is on the left, which is worth remembering before anyone takes the wheel of a rental car.

Planning your week from Hazardville
- Getting to St. John. Most of your group will fly into St. Thomas and make the short taxi ride to Red Hook, then board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Coordinate arrival days early so everyone reaches the island within a sensible window. Keep a shared note of each person's flight details, and remember that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road.
- Choosing your departure season. Leaving a Connecticut winter for the islands is a common reason friends plan this trip. Northern winters are cold, so many groups aim for the warmer months when the contrast feels most welcome. Talk with the group about schedules, school breaks, and work commitments, then pick a stretch that suits the majority rather than forcing one person to miss out.
- Planning the stay together. Villa Rentals are booked by the week, which suits a group trip well. Agree on a shared budget, decide who handles the reservation, and set expectations for shared meals and downtime. A little planning before you leave Hazardville means more time enjoying the island and less time sorting out logistics once you arrive.
