The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, and it can help a traveler from Kensington, Maryland, plan a long-awaited splurge at the Westin St John Resort. Villas there are rented by the week, so the planning starts with the dates you want.
For many people in Kensington, a trip to the Caribbean is something they have talked about for years before finally committing to it. A splurge like this deserves a plan that feels settled rather than rushed, and the Westin St John Resort on St. John in the US Virgin Islands gives you room to take your time. Villa rentals at the resort are a natural fit for travelers who want space, privacy, and a quieter pace than a standard hotel room offers. The island sits well outside the usual Maryland routine, and that distance is part of the appeal. Expect warm weather year round, which is a welcome change for anyone coming from a state with cold winters. Your job is simply to decide what kind of stay you want, and to let the team at St John Condos help you match that vision to a villa that fits.

Planning Your Trip From Kensington
- Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. It is a simple sequence once you know it, and the St John Condos team can walk you through each leg before you commit to any dates or arrangements.
- Choosing your departure window. Think about when you want to leave Maryland for the islands, since the season you pick shapes everything from the weather to how busy the resort feels. Because the climate is warm all year, many travelers choose based on their own calendar rather than the forecast. Share your preferred window with the team and they will help you weigh the options.
- Settling into your villa. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which gives a splurge like this a relaxed rhythm. Plan how you want your days to unfold, from lazy mornings to evenings out. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so think about whether you will drive yourself or prefer to rely on other ways of getting around.
Frequently asked questions
Is a week the shortest stay I can book at a villa?
