Planning Your Beach Trip from Aspen Hill
- Getting to the island. Most visitors from the Aspen Hill area fly into St. Thomas, airport code STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little extra time for the transfers so the last leg feels relaxed rather than rushed. Once you arrive, remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which may take a moment to get used to.
- Choosing your timing. Think about when you would like to leave Maryland for the islands. Travelers from northern states often look forward to a warm escape during the coldest months, when a beach week offers the biggest contrast with home. Before you lock in dates, weigh your own schedule, school calendar, and how much sunshine you hope to enjoy.
- Shaping the stay. Consider how you want your days to unfold. A villa rented by the week gives you space to slow down, plan a few beach outings, and build in lazy afternoons. Ask the St John Condos team about the villa layout and what suits your group, so your time on the sand fits the trip you imagined.
