The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps travelers from Gaithersburg, Maryland, plan a milestone celebration at villas on St. John, where a stay at the Westin St John Resort is a relaxed way to mark a special occasion together.
A milestone is worth marking somewhere that feels different from an ordinary weekend. For many families and friends in Gaithersburg, that means a trip away from the familiar routines of home, with time set aside simply to be together. St. John offers that kind of pause, with a slower pace and a setting that encourages conversation over long meals and unhurried mornings. Renting a villa through St John Condos gives your group a private home base rather than separate hotel rooms. You can cook a quiet breakfast, gather on a shared deck, and celebrate on your own schedule. Our team at St John Condos is glad to talk through what your group needs before you commit, so the celebration feels planned without feeling rushed.

Planning Your Trip From Gaithersburg
- Reaching the Island. Most visitors from Gaithersburg fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little buffer for connections so arrival day stays easy, and let your group know ahead of time that the final leg is a boat ride with your luggage in hand.
- Choosing Your Dates. Think about what kind of celebration you want before you pick dates. Gaithersburg winters are cold, so many travelers from Maryland look toward the islands during the colder months for warm sun and a clear change of season. Share your milestone date with our team, and we can help you think through which weeks suit your group best.
- Settling Into Your Villa. Villa Rentals are booked by the week, which suits a milestone trip well because everyone can settle in without packing and unpacking. Tell us about any dietary needs, mobility considerations, or celebration plans, and we will share what we know about the property. Driving on St. John is on the left, so plan accordingly if you intend to explore the island by car.
