Getting from Trumbull Center to St. John
- Reaching the island. Most visitors from Trumbull Center fly into St. Thomas, the airport code being STT. From there a taxi takes you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Pack light for the ferry and plan to have your luggage handled with care. Once on the island, remember that driving is on the left, which takes a little getting used to on the winding roads.
- Choosing your departure. Think about when you want to leave Connecticut for the islands. Traveling in the colder months from Trumbull Center means you may be trading snow for steady sun, which many people find worth the effort. Consider your work calendar, school breaks, and how much time you want for snorkeling trips. Settling on a date early gives you more choice in villa availability at the resort.
- Planning your stay. A week of snorkeling and beach days works well in a villa, since villas are rented by the week and give you a kitchen, space to rest, and a place to rinse your gear. Decide early which beach days you want and which days you would rather keep easy. Ask our team about Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort so your home base fits the trip you have in mind.
