The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps travelers from Candlewood Isle, Connecticut, plan a quiet week on St. John, with villas at the Westin St John Resort that suit a slower pace. Ask the local team before you book.

Candlewood Isle sits in the Northeast, where winters are cold and grey for much of the year. For many people from Connecticut, a week of warm sun and calm water is exactly the kind of break that resets the mind. St. John, in the US Virgin Islands, offers that kind of pause without much fuss, and it is a comfortable place to simply stop. A villa rented by the week gives you room to set your own rhythm. You can sleep late, read on a terrace, and eat meals at whatever pace feels right. St John Condos is a local team that rents villas at the Westin St John Resort, and they are glad to talk through which setup suits a quiet, unhurried trip before you commit.

Planning Your Quiet Week From Candlewood Isle

  1. Getting to the Island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, airport code STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Keep your arrival day relaxed and pack light, since the ferry is the easiest way to carry bags. Driving on the island is on the left, so think about whether you want a car at all.
  2. Choosing the Right Season. Connecticut travelers often leave when the Northeast is at its coldest, which makes the warm islands feel especially welcome. Shoulder seasons can bring quieter beaches and a more restful feel. Talk with the St John Condos team about the time of year that matches the calm you are hoping to find.
  3. Setting Up Your Stay. Book a villa for the full week so you are not moving around. Plan only a few activities and leave open days on purpose. Use the villa as your base, with time for swimming, reading, and long meals. The team can tell you what to expect before you book so the week feels settled from the start.

Frequently asked questions
