The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos is a local team that helps travelers from Routt County, Colorado, plan a week away with friends at villas near the Westin St John Resort on St. John, and it answers questions before you book.

Routt County sits in the mountains of northwestern Colorado, where winters are long and cold and the snow tends to arrive early. For a group of friends who spend most of the year chasing powder or hiking under big open skies, a week on a Caribbean island offers a very different kind of rest. Warm water, slow mornings, and a shared house with room for everyone can turn a ordinary trip into something the group talks about for years. Planning a week with friends works best when each person knows what the stay will look like before anyone packs a bag. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give your group a home base with separate spaces, a shared kitchen, and the freedom to come and go on your own schedule. Because villas are rented by the week, the whole group can settle in together and agree on plans without rushing from one hotel check-in to the next.

Getting from Routt County to St. John

  1. Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors from Routt County fly into St. Thomas, the airport code being STT, and then continue the rest of the way on the same day. Gather everyone's arrival details in one shared message so no one ends up waiting alone at the baggage claim. Keeping the group's plans together makes the next leg far less stressful.
  2. Taxi to Red Hook. From the airport, most groups take a taxi to Red Hook, the ferry departure point for the trip across to St. John. Taxis can carry several people and their luggage, so one or two cars usually handle a group of friends comfortably. Ask the driver to confirm the ferry you need before you set off, so the group arrives ready to board.
  3. Passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. The passenger ferry from Red Hook lands in Cruz Bay, the main town on St. John. Keep your group together at the dock and have one person carry the shared paperwork and villa details. Once you step off, remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which is worth a short reminder to anyone who will take the wheel.

Frequently asked questions

Is a villa better than a hotel for a group of friends?

For most groups, yes. A villa gives everyone private bedrooms, a shared kitchen for relaxed breakfasts, and a living space where people can gather after a day out. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which suits a longer stay with friends who want to keep their own rhythm rather than moving between separate rooms in a large building.

What should our group talk about before we book?

Agree on the dates, how costs will be shared, and who will handle the travel arrangements. Decide early whether you want quiet days by the water or a fuller schedule. St John Condos answers questions before you book, so bring your list to the team and they can help you think through the details that matter most for your group.
