The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help families in Murray, Connecticut, plan a Caribbean stay at Westin St John Resort villas, and the team answers questions before you book.
Family trips to the islands ask a lot of planning, especially when the group includes children, grandparents, or friends traveling together. For families in Murray, Connecticut, the Northeast's cold winters make a warm-weather escape feel especially welcome. A villa at the Westin St John Resort gives everyone room to spread out, cook a few meals, and settle into a slower rhythm than a hotel block usually allows. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort are booked by the week, which suits families who want time to unwind rather than rushing from one stop to the next. St. John is reached by flying to St. Thomas, then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Plan the connection with care, pack for the warmth, and remember that driving here is on the left side of the road.

Planning a family trip from Murray
- Getting from Murray. Most families from Murray begin by getting to a major hub with a connection to St. Thomas, which is the airport code STT. From there, a taxi carries you to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry crosses to Cruz Bay on St. John. Give yourself a relaxed buffer for each leg, especially when traveling with young children and car seats, strollers, or luggage for several people.
- Choosing when to leave. Connecticut winters are cold, so many families from Murray look for a window that lets them trade snow for sunshine without crowding the calendar. Think about school schedules, your children's routines, and how much rest everyone needs after the trip home. Ask the St John Condos team which weeks suit a family group before you commit.
- Planning the stay. Once you have a date, choose a Villa Rentals unit large enough for everyone to have space and a kitchen for simple breakfasts. Build the week around a few anchor plans and leave open days for the beach and pool. Share the itinerary with grandparents or other adults in your group so everyone knows what to expect.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa a good fit for a family from Murray?

How do we get from the airport on St. Thomas to our villa?
Most visitors take a taxi from the airport to Red Hook, then the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Since luggage and car seats add up quickly, ask the St John Condos team for practical tips on packing light and arranging transfers that suit your family.
