The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help families from Howard, Colorado plan a relaxed island stay in villas at the Westin St John Resort, with answers to questions before you book.
Families coming from Howard, Colorado, often start from a landlocked place where the mountains define the view, and a Caribbean island can feel like a very different kind of trip. St John Condos is a local team that rents villas at the Westin St John Resort, and we understand that a family vacation asks for more room, more shared space, and fewer moving parts than a hotel room usually offers. Villa Rentals give you a home base where everyone can spread out and settle in. Colorado winters are cold, so many Howard families look forward to warm water and an unhurried week away from snow and layers. St John is a small island in the US Virgin Islands, and it has a pace that suits children and grandparents alike. Before you commit, talk with us about what your group needs, and we will help you decide whether a villa fits the way your family likes to travel.

Planning your trip from Howard
- Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook and catch the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Families traveling from Howard may want to bring a list of bags and seating needs so the transfers go smoothly. Driving on St. John happens on the left, so if you plan to rent a vehicle, let us know early.
- Choosing your season. Colorado families often leave during the coldest months, when a warm island feels most welcome, but you can also visit during quieter stretches when school schedules allow. Think about your children's calendars, your own work commitments, and how much you want to enjoy the water. We can talk through the seasons with you and point out what each one tends to feel like on the island.
- Planning the stay. Villa rentals are booked by the week, which gives your family room to unwind without rushing from place to place. Decide early who needs a bedroom, who wants a quiet corner, and what meals you would like to share at home. Send us your questions before you book, and we will help you shape a stay that feels comfortable for everyone from Howard.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to rent a car on St. John?
It depends on how your family likes to get around. Driving on St. John is on the left, so a little extra care is wise. Many families decide based on how often they plan to leave the resort area. Tell us your plans and we will share what travelers from Howard typically find helpful.
Is a villa better than a hotel room for a family?
For many families, a villa offers more space, a kitchen for simple meals, and separate areas where everyone can rest.
