The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can answer your questions before you book, and for travelers from Torrington, Connecticut, a beach-centered trip to the Westin St John Resort on St. John starts with a villa rented by the week. Our local team is glad to talk through the options with you.
Torrington sits in the northwest hills of Connecticut, where winters are cold and the snow can linger for weeks. For many families and couples from this part of the state, a trip built around the beach feels like the right answer to a long gray season. The islands offer warm water, soft sand, and a slower rhythm that is hard to find closer to home. A beach-focused stay at the Westin St John Resort gives you more room to settle in than a standard hotel room would. Villa Rentals let you spread out, cook a few meals, and return to the water whenever you like. St John Condos is here to help you weigh those choices so the trip fits the way you actually like to spend a day.

Planning a beach trip from Torrington
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors from Connecticut fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT. From there, a taxi will take you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. It is a simple sequence, but it helps to plan the connections carefully so you arrive rested and ready for the beach.
- Choosing when to leave. Torrington winters are cold, so many travelers from the region look toward the months when the islands feel most inviting and the home weather is at its harshest. Think about the season you want for your beach days, your budget for travel, and how much time you can take away from work and family. A short conversation with our team can help you match the timing to your plans.
- Planning the stay. Villa Rentals are typically booked by the week, which gives you time to settle into a beach routine. Consider how many people are traveling, whether you want a pool, and how close you would like to be to the sand. Driving on St. John is on the left, so think about whether you will rent a car or prefer to rely on taxis and walking.
