The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps couples from Ophir, Colorado, plan a quiet island getaway with villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort, with a local team ready to answer questions before you book.

Ophir sits in the mountains of Colorado, where winters are cold and snowy and the landscape is mostly quiet and wide open. For a couple coming from a place like this, a trip to the Caribbean can feel like a clean break from the usual routine. St. John is a small island in the US Virgin Islands, reached by warm water, slow mornings, and a pace that suits two people who want time together. Villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort give couples a private base for the stay rather than a shared hotel room. You can plan your own mornings, eat in when you feel like it, and step out to the water when the mood strikes. Rentals are booked by the week, which tends to suit couples who want to settle in and stop watching the clock.

Planning a couples trip from Ophir

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors from Ophir fly to St. Thomas, which uses airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Once on the island, remember that driving is on the left side of the road, so take a moment to adjust before you head out on your first drive together.
  2. Choosing when to go. Colorado winters are long, so many couples from Ophir choose to leave during the colder months at home and enjoy the island's warm climate. Travel in any season works, but think about the weather you want to step into and whether you prefer a quieter stretch of the year. Talk it through with the St John Condos team before you lock in dates.
  3. Planning your stay. Think about how you want your days to feel, whether that means slow breakfasts on the terrace, long swims, or simply having space to talk. Choose a villa that fits two people comfortably and decide early whether you want a rental car. Share your plans with the St John Condos team, who can help match your villa rental to the kind of getaway you have in mind.
