Traveling together from North Key Largo
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, airport code STT, then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Plan this leg with the oldest travelers in mind, since a slower pace and a few extra stops can keep the day easy for everyone and leave the whole group fresh on arrival.
- Choosing when to go. The islands stay warm year round, which suits grandparents and grandchildren alike, but school calendars and holiday weeks shape when your family can actually gather. Think about who needs the mildest weather and who can handle a busier stretch, then settle on dates that let every generation enjoy the sun without rushing.
- Planning the stay. Villas are rented by the week, which gives a multigenerational group time to unpack, settle in, and fall into a rhythm. Share your plans with the St John Condos team early, and talk about shared meals, separate sleeping areas, and how you'll handle driving, since traffic on St. John moves on the left side of the road.
