The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help travelers from North Brooksville, Florida, plan a snorkeling and beach week on St. John, with villas at the Westin St John Resort rented by the week.
Snorkeling and lazy beach days are a common reason travelers from North Brooksville come to St. John. The island is small and green, with water that stays warm for most of the year, which suits people who want to spend their mornings in the sea and their afternoons in the shade. Many visitors arrive from Florida already dreaming of clear water and quiet sand. A villa gives you room to set your own pace. Instead of fitting your week around a hotel schedule, you can pack your gear by the door, come back for lunch, and rinse your mask on a private patio. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort are offered by the week, so you can settle in and let the days stretch out without constant planning.

Planning your trip from North Brooksville
- Reaching St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little slack in your day for these transfers, and pack snorkel gear in your carry-on so you are not waiting on checked bags before the water.
- Choosing the right season. Florida winters are mild by comparison, but many travelers from North Brooksville still find the islands appealing in the cooler months when the sun is gentler and the trade winds feel pleasant. Summer brings warmer water and the chance for calmer seas on some days. Think about whether you want the most sun or the most comfortable air, and choose your week with that in mind.
- Settling into your villa. Once you book, the St John Condos team can answer questions about what to expect from your stay before you arrive. Ask about the villa layout, what gear is worth bringing from home, and how to get around. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so take a moment before you pull out of a parking spot.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to bring my own snorkel gear from North Brooksville?
Bringing your own mask, snorkel, and fins means you know they fit well and are ready to use the moment you step outside. Many travelers prefer this, especially for a week of daily swims. If you would rather not pack bulky items, ask the St John Condos team what is easiest to bring or arrange before your trip.
Is a villa a better choice than a hotel room for a snorkeling week?
For a week of beach days, a villa offers more space to rinse gear, store towels, and cook simple meals between swims. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which suits travelers who want a steady routine. If you prefer daily housekeeping and a front desk, a hotel room may feel more familiar.
