The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos answers questions from travelers in Brookridge, Florida, who are considering a week of exploring the island before they book a villa at the Westin St John Resort. Their local team is glad to talk through what a week on St. John can look like.
Brookridge sits in the Southeast, where the warm air and long summers already feel familiar. Coming to St. John from here is a different kind of trip, one that asks you to slow down, read the island's rhythms, and let each day unfold on its own terms. A week gives you room to do that without rushing from one plan to the next. A week on St. John is also a chance to make your base feel like home. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give you private space, a kitchen for slow mornings, and a quiet place to return to after a day out. Here, the island becomes the main attraction, and your home for the week becomes the anchor for everything else.

Planning your week from Brookridge
- Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, airport code STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and catch the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan your flights from Florida with a little room to spare, since connections and ferry timing both matter. Once you land on St. John, you will be glad you kept your luggage light and your plans flexible.
- Choosing your timing. Florida and the Virgin Islands share a warm climate, but the rhythm of the seasons still shapes how a visit feels. Think about whether you want the quieter stretches of the year or the busier ones when more travelers arrive. Decide what matters most to you, whether that is calm water, long afternoons, or room to wander, and let that guide your dates.
- Planning the stay. Villa Rentals are booked by the week, which suits a leisurely island trip well. Pick a villa that matches the kind of days you want, and sketch a loose plan that leaves space for spontaneous swims and unhurried meals. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so take a moment to get comfortable before heading out on the roads.
