The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps travelers from Maitland, Florida, plan a long-awaited island splurge, with villas at the Westin St John Resort and local answers before you book.

Some trips are worth waiting for, and a stay on St. John is often one of them. If you have been talking about a special island holiday for years, you already know how much a little planning can change the way the whole trip feels. Maitland sits in the Southeast, where warm weather is familiar, yet the Caribbean setting of St. John offers a different kind of unhurried comfort that is hard to find at home. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give you room to slow down on purpose. Instead of squeezing into a standard hotel layout, you can spread out, cook a few meals, and treat the days as your own. Our local team can walk you through what to expect before you commit, so the splurge you have imagined matches the stay you actually book.

Planning your island splurge from Maitland

  1. Reaching St. John. Most visitors from Maitland fly into St. Thomas, which carries the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little buffer for connections so the last leg feels relaxed rather than rushed, and let your villa team know your arrival details early.
  2. Choosing your timing. Florida's own seasons are a helpful guide here. If you prefer milder days, many people from the Southeast aim for the cooler, drier part of the Caribbean year. If your heart is set on a particular month because of a celebration, tell us that first. We can point out what the timing tends to feel like on the island so your expectations are sensible.
  3. Planning the stay. Villas are rented by the week, which suits a long-planned trip well because you can settle in rather than check out every few days. Think about how many guests are coming, whether you want a kitchen for breakfasts, and how you will get around, since driving on St. John is on the left. Send your questions to our team and we will help you match the villa to the trip you have been dreaming about.

Frequently asked questions

Is a villa really better than a standard hotel room for a special trip?

It depends on what you want from the stay. A villa gives you separate space, a full kitchen, and a slower rhythm, which many couples and families value on a once-in-a-while trip. If you mostly plan to be out all day, a simpler room may suit you. Tell us how you like to spend your days and we will give you an honest answer.

How far ahead should someone from Maitland book a villa?

For a trip you have planned for a long time, booking early gives you the widest choice of villas and the most flexibility on dates. Contact our local team before you reserve anything. We can explain what is available for your travel window and help you compare options so the booking feels like a confident decision rather than a rushed one.
