The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps travelers from Gunnison, Colorado, plan a milestone celebration at the Westin St John Resort, with villas rented by the week and a local team that answers questions before you book.
A milestone is worth marking somewhere that feels different from everyday life, and for many people in Gunnison that means leaving the mountain air and open valleys behind for warm water and a slower rhythm. St. John, in the US Virgin Islands, offers exactly that kind of change. The island is small and green, the pace is unhurried, and the setting suits a gathering of close friends or family who want time together without a crowded itinerary. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give your group room to spread out, cook a few meals, and gather on a terrace when the day winds down. Because villas are rented by the week, you can settle in rather than rush from one plan to the next. St John Condos is a local team, so you can ask questions about the villas and the island before you commit to anything.

From Gunnison to St. John
- Reaching the island. Most visitors from Gunnison fly to St. Thomas, which is the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan your connections with some margin, since island travel rewards a relaxed attitude, and bring any paperwork you need for the trip before you leave home.
- Choosing your moment. Colorado winters are cold and snowy, so many people from Gunnison look forward to a warm escape during those months. Think about when your milestone falls and what else is happening in your group. The islands are warm year round, so the choice comes down to your schedule, your budget, and whether you prefer a quieter stretch of the year.
- Planning the stay. Start by deciding how many people will come and how much shared space you want. Villa Rentals suit groups that value privacy and a kitchen. Ask the St John Condos team which villa fits your party, what the week includes, and how to arrange a celebratory dinner or a day on the water, then book with confidence.
