The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps travelers from Crested Butte plan a milestone celebration at the Westin St John Resort, with villas rented by the week and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.

Crested Butte is a mountain town in Colorado, where winters bring deep snow and summers stay cool at altitude. For many people who live there, an anniversary, a big birthday, or a retirement is a good reason to step away from the familiar and head somewhere warm. St John, in the US Virgin Islands, offers that change of pace, with clear water and a slower rhythm than most mountain itineraries. Villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort suit a celebration because they give your group room to gather on your own terms. You can cook a quiet breakfast, linger over a long dinner, and keep the evening yours. Planning ahead matters, so the St John Condos team is available to talk through dates and details before you commit to anything.

Planning Your Celebration From Crested Butte

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. From there it is a short drive to your villa. Keep in mind that driving on St. John is on the left, a detail worth remembering if you plan to rent a vehicle for the week of your celebration.
  2. Choosing When to Go. Crested Butte travelers often think about the season in terms of ski trips and summer hikes, so a Caribbean trip may feel like a different calendar. Winter in Colorado is cold, which makes a warm island stay especially appealing. Think about which weeks suit your guest list, and ask the St John Condos team which villas are open for those dates.
  3. Planning the Stay. Set your celebration schedule before you arrive, including any dinner reservations, a day on the water, or a quiet afternoon for the guest of honor. Villas are rented by the week, which gives you a steady base for the whole group. Share your plans with the St John Condos team early so they can help you match the right villa to your party.

Frequently asked questions

Is a villa a good choice for a milestone celebration rather than a hotel room?

For many groups, yes. A villa gives everyone space to gather, cook together, and relax between events. Because villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, you can settle in and avoid the back and forth of checking in and out. The St John Condos team can explain what each villa offers before you decide.

How do I know which villa will fit my group?

Start with how many people are coming and how much shared space you want. Tell the St John Condos team your group size, your dates, and any accessibility needs. They can walk you through the Villa Rentals available and answer questions about layout and amenities before you book, so the choice feels clear rather than rushed.
