The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps families from Fulford, Colorado, plan a Caribbean stay at villas near the Westin St John Resort, answering questions from a local team before you book.

Fulford sits in the mountain West, where winters are cold and snowy for much of the year. For a family used to that landscape, a warm island with turquoise water can feel like a complete change of pace. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give you room to spread out, cook a simple meal, and let children run around without a hotel hallway in the way. Many families like having a home base that works for everyone, from the youngest travelers to grandparents who want a quiet morning. A villa offers separate spaces to rest, a kitchen for easy breakfasts, and a day that unfolds at your own speed. St John Condos is a local team, so you can talk through what your group needs before anything is booked.

Planning a family trip from Fulford

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors from Fulford fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little extra room for car seats, strollers, and bags, since the transfers involve several stops and it helps to travel light on the parts you carry yourself.
  2. Choosing when to go. Colorado winters are long, so many Fulford families aim for the islands during the colder months at home. Weather there is warm year round, so the choice often comes down to school calendars and crowd levels. Think about what suits your children best, and ask the St John Condos team which weeks tend to fit family groups well.
  3. Planning your stay. Villa Rentals are typically booked by the week, which gives a family time to settle in rather than rushing from place to place. Make a loose list of the things your children want to do, and leave open afternoons for pool time and rest. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so think about whether you want a car at all.

Frequently asked questions

Is a villa better than a hotel room for a family from Fulford?

It depends on your group. A villa gives you separate rooms, a full kitchen, and space to unwind together after a day outside. Many families find that extra room makes mornings easier and evenings more relaxed. The St John Condos team can talk through layouts with you so you can judge what fits your children and any grandparents traveling along.

Do I need to ask questions before booking my family villa?

Yes, and you are welcome to. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, including about bedrooms, access, and how the week is structured. Bring your list of concerns, such as sleeping arrangements or nearby needs, and get clear answers so the trip starts out the way you intended.
