The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos can help travelers from Colchester, Connecticut, plan a week of snorkeling and beach days on St. John, with villas at the Westin St John Resort rented by the week. Ask the local team anything before you book.

From Colchester, a week of snorkeling and beach days on St. John asks for a little planning, but the rewards are simple: warm water, quiet shoreline, and mornings that begin with nothing more urgent than choosing a mask and fins. Connecticut winters are cold, which is part of why many travelers from the state look forward to a week in the Caribbean sun. A villa gives you room to spread out after a day on the water. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort suit people who want their own kitchen, living space, and a place to rinse gear at the end of the day. Because villas are rented by the week, a full seven days fits naturally into the booking, leaving time to snorkel, rest, and wander without rushing from one plan to the next. St John Condos answers questions from the local team before you commit.

Planning your week from Colchester

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors from Colchester fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for a short ride on the island from there. Driving on St. John is on the left, so keep that in mind if you rent a car once you arrive and settle in.
  2. Choosing your departure window. Connecticut weather in the cooler months can be raw, so many travelers from Colchester prefer to leave when the northern winter is at its harshest. The Caribbean stays warm year round, though seasons do shift rainfall and crowds. Think about what matters most to you, calm water for snorkeling or quieter beaches, and pick a week that fits your work and school calendars.
  3. Planning the stay. Book a villa for the full week so your snorkeling days, beach afternoons, and slower evenings all have a home base. Make a rough list of the beaches and reef spots you want to try, then leave open days for weather and tired legs. Ask St John Condos about villa layouts and what the Westin St John Resort offers before you book.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring my own snorkel gear from Colchester?

Many travelers bring their own mask, snorkel, and fins because fit matters and it saves a search once you arrive. If you prefer not to pack gear, ask the St John Condos team what is available near your villa before you travel so you can plan accordingly.

Is a villa a good choice for a beach-focused week?

A villa suits travelers who want space to store gear, rinse swimsuits, and cook simple meals between beach days. Villa Rentals are booked by the week, which matches a snorkeling trip well. The local team can explain what each villa includes before you decide.
