For many people in Charlestown, a trip to the Caribbean is something they have talked about for years before it finally feels like the right moment. A splurge like this deserves careful planning, and that is where a local team that answers your questions before you book can make a real difference. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort offer space, privacy, and a setting that suits a trip you have been dreaming about. Maryland winters are cold and gray, which is part of why a warm island escape can feel so restorative. On St. John, the pace is unhurried, the water is inviting, and the days seem to stretch in a good way. If you are ready to treat yourself, this is a chance to plan with intention, choose the villa that fits your group, and arrive ready to enjoy every part of the stay.

Planning your splurge from Charlestown

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for a little extra time between connections, and keep your luggage manageable, since the ferry and taxi are simplest with what you can comfortably carry yourself.
  2. Choosing when to leave. Think about when you want to leave Maryland for the islands. Cold months in Charlestown often make the Caribbean feel especially welcome, while other seasons bring their own appeal. Consider your work schedule, family commitments, and the weather you prefer, then reach out to the St John Condos team, who can talk through options before you commit to dates.
  3. Planning the stay. Villa Rentals are typically booked by the week, which gives you time to settle in rather than rush from one plan to the next. Decide who is coming, what you want from the trip, and how much you want to plan in advance. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, and keep that in mind as you settle into your getaway.
