The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps travelers from Arbutus plan a milestone celebration at a villa at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, US Virgin Islands. Our local team answers questions before you book, so every detail can be settled ahead of the trip.
A milestone deserves a setting that feels unhurried and personal, and many families from Arbutus find that a private villa suits the occasion better than a crowded hotel floor. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give your group a home base with room to gather, cook a meal together, and step out to the water whenever the mood strikes. For an anniversary, a graduation, or a big birthday, that kind of space changes how the days feel. Arbutus sits in the Southeast of the country, where summers run warm and humid, so the idea of trading a grey winter or a sticky August for Caribbean sunshine tends to appeal to people planning a celebration. On St. John the climate stays mild through most of the year, which means you can plan the gathering around the people you love rather than around the weather. Our team can talk through which parts of the year suit your group before you commit to anything.

Planning a celebration from Arbutus
- Reaching the island from Arbutus. Most visitors from the area fly into St. Thomas, which carries the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for the ferry schedule once you know your arrival day, and remember that driving on the island is on the left, so renting a car is worth a conversation with our team.
- Choosing when to leave Maryland. Think about the milestone date first, then work backward. If the celebration falls in a cooler stretch at home, a Caribbean trip can feel like a reward, while a summer date may mean early mornings and long shade breaks. Share your guest list and preferred dates with our team, and we will help you weigh the options before you lock in travel.
- Planning the stay around the guests. Villas are rented by the week, so consider how many days your group truly needs to gather, celebrate, and rest. Ask us which villa layouts suit your number of guests and whether you want a quiet dinner or a lively party space. Thinking about the schedule early helps everyone arrive ready to enjoy the occasion.
Frequently asked questions
Can we hold a private dinner or small party at a villa for a milestone?
Many groups use their villa as the setting for an intimate dinner or a gathering with close friends. Tell our team what kind of celebration you have in mind, and we will share what the villa and resort can comfortably accommodate before you book.
Is a villa better than a hotel room for a family celebration?
For most families, yes. A villa gives everyone separate sleeping space, a kitchen for shared meals, and room to spread out. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort suit groups who want a relaxed setting, and our team can help you compare options.
