Planning your island splurge from Belleair
- Getting from Belleair. Most visitors reach St. John by flying to St. Thomas, airport code STT, then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Build in a little slack for connections and for the ferry schedule, so the last leg does not feel rushed after a long day of travel. Your St John Condos contact can walk you through the sequence before you commit.
- Choosing when to go. Florida winters are mild by comparison with northern states, but the Virgin Islands have their own seasonal rhythm, and the timing you pick shapes the feel of your week. Think about whether you want the calmest stretch, the warmest water, or the quietest roads. Matching the season to your priorities is one of the simplest ways to make a splurge feel worth every bit of planning.
- Planning the stay. A villa rental gives you space, a kitchen, and room to spread out, which many travelers find more restful than a crowded resort floor. Decide early whether you want to cook, dine out, or mix both, and note that driving on St. John is on the left. Ask about Villa Rentals options and what each one includes so your week runs smoothly from the first morning.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa rental worth it for a special trip from Florida?
For many travelers, yes. A villa gives you a private base, a kitchen, and more room than a standard room, which suits a longer or more celebratory stay. Your St John Condos contact can explain what each villa offers so you can judge whether the extra space matches what you want from the trip.
Do I need to plan the ferry ahead of arrival?
It helps to. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, take a taxi to Red Hook, and catch the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Planning that last stretch in advance means you can focus on the trip itself rather than working out logistics after a long journey.
How much does Villa Rentals cost?
It depends on your situation. Contact St John Condos for current details so you get accurate numbers instead of a guess.
