The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps travelers from Winter Haven, Florida, plan a long-awaited splurge at the Westin St John Resort, with villa rentals that are rented by the week and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.
Some trips are saved for years before they finally happen. For many people in Winter Haven, Florida, a stay on St. John in the US Virgin Islands is exactly that kind of trip, a deliberate treat rather than a quick getaway. Staying in a villa at the Westin St John Resort gives you room to spread out, unpack properly, and settle into a slower rhythm for the whole week. Florida is a short trip away from the Caribbean in spirit, yet the island feels distinctly its own once you arrive. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas and then take a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Once you are there, you can plan the rest of the week around what you actually want, with a villa as your home base.

Planning your splurge from Winter Haven
- Getting to St. John. Most travelers from Winter Haven reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, the airport code STT, and then riding a taxi to Red Hook. From there, the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay. Plan for a little extra time on the travel days so the connections feel relaxed rather than rushed, and keep your bags close and manageable for the ferry.
- Choosing when to go. Winter Haven experiences hot, humid summers, so many travelers from Florida find a visit to the islands a welcome change at other times of year. Think about when you can truly step away from work and family. A splurge is easier to enjoy when you are not watching the calendar, so pick a window that feels unhurried to you.
- Planning the stay. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort are booked by the week, which suits a long-planned trip well. Ask St John Condos about the villa layouts, what is included, and how the arrangements suit a longer stay. Driving on St. John is on the left, so think about whether you want a car, and sort out those details before you arrive.
