Planning a couples trip from Wauregan
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Pack light, since you will be carrying your own bags for part of the way, and plan to rest once you arrive at your villa.
- Choosing when to go. Connecticut winters are cold, so many couples from the state choose the islands during the colder months at home. The Virgin Islands stay warm year round, which gives you flexibility. Think about the mood you want, whether that is a quiet stretch in the off season or a livelier feel, and let that guide your dates.
- Planning the stay. Villas are rented by the week, which suits couples who want time to settle in rather than rush from place to place. Decide early how much you want to explore and how much you want to stay put. If you plan to drive, remember that traffic on St. John moves on the left, and ask St John Condos about the details before you arrive.
