Planning a quiet week from North Grosvenor Dale

  1. Reaching the island. Most visitors from North Grosvenor Dale fly into St. Thomas, airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Pack light for the ferry and plan your bags with that short hop in mind, since it keeps the start of your trip relaxed.
  2. Choosing your departure. Connecticut weather is cold for much of the year, so many travelers from the state look for a window that feels like a real break from the season. Think about what you want most, whether that is calm water, a quiet pool, or simply time away from your usual routine. Let the season and your own schedule guide the choice, and check with the St John Condos team if you are unsure.
  3. Setting up your stay. Villas are rented by the week, which suits a quiet trip well because you can settle in and stop watching the clock. Decide ahead of time how much you want to drive, since roads on St. John run on the left, and it helps to be comfortable with that before you arrive. Keep a loose plan with a few anchor activities and leave the rest open.
