The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, and many families from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, use them to plan a relaxed island trip. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which gives your family room to settle in.
Upper Marlboro sits in the Southeast region of the United States, in Maryland, where the seasons are distinct and winters are cold. For a family, a few days in the Caribbean can feel like a real change of pace, with warm air, open water, and time that belongs to everyone at the table. Many households from this part of Maryland look for a shared place to stay rather than separate hotel rooms, and that is where villa rentals come in. A villa gives your family a home base for the whole visit. Children can wander between rooms, adults can keep a quiet morning on the terrace, and meals can happen when everyone is ready. Because villas are rented by the week, you can plan around school calendars and work schedules without juggling several bookings. St John Condos is happy to talk through which setup suits your group before you commit.

Your family trip from Upper Marlboro
- Reaching St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Keep in mind that driving on the island is on the left side of the road, so many families prefer to arrange transport in advance and let the team guide them through the handoff.
- Picking your season. Upper Marlboro winters are cold, so many families from Maryland look toward the Caribbean during the colder months for a noticeable change in weather. Think about your children's school breaks and any sports or activities that tie you down. Choosing a window that fits your household makes the trip feel like a true escape instead of a rushed scramble.
- Planning the stay. Start by deciding how many bedrooms your group needs and whether you want space for games, rest, and meals together. Villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort work well when you map out a rough plan for days on the water and quieter afternoons. Ask St John Condos your questions early, and they will help you match the villa to your family's pace.
