The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos can help travelers from Pensacola, Florida, plan a beach-focused trip to villas at the Westin St John Resort, answering questions before you book. Our local team knows the island well and keeps the planning simple from the first message.

Pensacola sits on the Gulf side of the Florida Panhandle, where the sand is white and the water is calm for much of the year. Many people who live here already spend their free time near the shore, so a beach holiday can feel familiar in the best way. The Virgin Islands offer a different kind of shoreline, with clear water and a slower pace that is easy to settle into. A trip built around the beach on St. John works well when your days have a clear rhythm. Mornings can start with a walk along the sand before the heat builds, and afternoons can stay open for swimming, reading, or simply watching the water. Villa Rentals give you space to shape that routine on your own terms, with a kitchen and a private place to unwind after a day outdoors.

Planning a beach trip from Pensacola

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors from Pensacola fly to St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan your connections with some room to spare, since travel days are easier when you are not rushing between gates or the dock.
  2. Choosing when to go. The Virgin Islands are warm year round, so the choice of season is mostly about crowds, rainfall, and the hurricane season that runs through the late summer and early fall. Many travelers from the Gulf Coast prefer the drier, calmer months for long days on the sand. Think about what kind of beach time matters most to you, then pick dates that fit.
  3. Planning your stay. Villa Rentals are typically booked by the week, which suits a beach-focused trip well. Think about where you want to spend most of your time, whether that is near the water or with a quiet view, and whether you plan to cook or eat out. Ask the St John Condos team any questions about the villa, the island, or driving on the left before you book.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a car to enjoy the beach on St. John?

Many visitors find a car useful for reaching different beaches and shops, and driving on St. John is on the left. Some people prefer to stay close to their villa and take taxis for short trips. Think about how much you want to explore beyond the resort before you decide.

Is a villa a good choice for a beach trip with family or friends?
