Okeechobee County sits in the interior of Florida, where the landscape is wide, flat and quiet, and where life moves at an easy pace. For many couples from here, a trip to the Caribbean feels like a welcome change of scenery. St. John offers green hills, clear water and a slower rhythm that suits two people looking for time together rather than a crowded itinerary. The Westin St John Resort puts you in a setting built around privacy and relaxation. Villa Rentals are a good match for couples who want their own space, a kitchen for quiet breakfasts, and room to spread out after a day on the beach. St John Condos can talk through which villa suits two people and what the stay might look like before you commit.

Planning a Getaway from Okeechobee County
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for a little travel between legs, and keep your bags light and your documents within reach. Once you arrive, remember that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road.
- Choosing when to go. Think about the season that suits you best. Florida travelers often find the islands appealing when home is at its busiest or its hottest, so an off-season trip may feel calmer. Weigh the crowds, the weather and your own calendar. Our team can help you compare options so you travel when the timing feels right for the two of you.
- Planning your stay. Villa Rentals are typically booked by the week, which gives couples room to settle in rather than rush from place to place. Decide early how many days you want on the beach, which meals you might cook at the villa, and whether you want time for quiet afternoons. A simple plan keeps the trip relaxed and leaves space for spontaneous moments together.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to rent a car on St. John?
Many couples find a rental car useful for getting around the island, but plan ahead and keep in mind that driving is on the left. Your villa and the resort area may be reached in different ways, so ask our team what makes sense for your stay before you book your arrangements.
Is a villa a good choice for a couple?
For many couples, yes. A villa gives you private space, a kitchen for relaxed meals, and a quieter base than a busy hotel. St John Condos can explain how the villas work and help you decide whether one fits the kind of getaway you have in mind.
