The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos can help travelers from New Castle plan a beach-centered trip to the Westin St John Resort, with villas rented by the week and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.

New Castle sits in the mountains of western Colorado, where the landscape is rivers, red rock and snow-capped ridges. For many people who live there, a trip to the ocean is something to look forward to all year. A beach-built trip to St. John gives you warm water, white sand and long mornings with nothing urgent on the calendar. Because the island is a US territory in the Caribbean, the pace of a stay there feels different from a mountain getaway. Days tend to start slowly, with time on the sand or in clear shallow water, and evenings are for dinner and a quiet walk. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give you a home base close to that routine, with room to spread out.

Planning a beach trip from New Castle

  1. Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for that connection with some patience, since you will be moving between several kinds of transport. If you are renting a car on the island, remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so take a moment to settle in before heading out.
  2. Choosing when to go. Colorado winters are cold and snowy, so many people from New Castle choose to leave the mountains during the coldest months and head for warm sun instead. Think about what kind of beach days you want, whether that means calm water for swimming or a slower stretch of shoulder-season quiet. Once you have a rough idea of the season, you can narrow down your dates and begin looking at villa availability.
  3. Planning the stay. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which suits a beach-focused trip well. Settle your sleeping arrangements, how many people are traveling, and how you want your mornings and afternoons to feel. Then talk through your Villa Rentals options with the St John Condos team, who can help you match a home to your plans before you commit.
