The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, and for travelers from Mount Aetna, Maryland, planning a long-held splurge, they can talk through villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort on St. John in the US Virgin Islands.
A splurge that has been on the calendar for years deserves a plan that feels as special as the idea itself. For many travelers from Mount Aetna, the dream of a Caribbean trip sits quietly in the background of ordinary weeks, waiting for the right moment. Here, that moment can be shaped into a stay in a villa at the Westin St John Resort, where the pace is slower and the days belong to you. Planning from a Maryland town means thinking about the trip in stages, from the first trip to the airport to the last evening on the island. Villa rentals at the resort are booked by the week, which gives a long-awaited trip room to breathe rather than rushing from one plan to the next. Taking time over the details now tends to make the arrival feel calmer and the time itself feel more deliberate.

Getting from Mount Aetna to St. John
- Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then make their way to the island from there. From the airport, a taxi takes you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. It is a simple sequence, and having it written down before you leave home lets you relax on the day of travel instead of solving problems on the spot.
- Choose your season. Maryland winters are cold, so many travelers from the area find that the warm Caribbean climate feels especially welcome in the colder months. Think about what kind of week you want, whether that is quiet mornings, long lunches, or time spent in the water. Settling on the season early gives you more freedom when comparing villa rental options at the resort.
- Plan the stay itself. Villas are rented by the week, so decide how many nights feel right for a trip you have been imagining for years. Note that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, which may take some getting used to. Send your questions to the St John Condos team before you book, and they will help you match the villa to the kind of splurge you have in mind.
