The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help a multigenerational family from Keedysville, Maryland, plan a shared villa stay at the Westin St John Resort, with rooms and space arranged so grandparents, parents, and children can all be together.
Keedysville is a small Maryland city in the Southeast of the country, and families who live here often know how much work it takes to keep a crowd of relatives on the same schedule. A trip for three generations asks a lot from everyone, from the youngest traveler who needs an easy rhythm to the grandparents who want a comfortable bed and a shaded place to sit. A villa can make that shared time feel natural. On St. John, Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give a family room to spread out while still staying close together. Mornings can belong to whoever wakes first, evenings can center on a meal at the table, and everyone can choose how much time to spend side by side. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, so you can talk through the details with them first.

Planning a trip from Keedysville
- Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay. Plan for the transfers with the oldest and youngest travelers in mind, and build in some slack so the group can move at a pace everyone can manage. Ask the St John Condos team how the transfer usually works for groups.
- Choosing the season. Keedysville sits in a region where winters are cold, so many families from here look toward the islands when the northern weather turns hard. Think about which months suit your oldest travelers' comfort and your children's school calendar. Warm weather is the general rule in the islands, so the real decision is usually about crowds and what suits your group.
- Planning the stay. Villa Rentals are typically booked by the week, which gives a multigenerational group time to settle in. Ask about bedroom layouts, which rooms sit closest together, and whether any spaces are easy to reach without stairs. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so consider who will drive and whether a shared plan for getting around will keep everyone comfortable.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa a good choice when grandparents, parents, and kids all travel together?
Often it is. A villa gives each generation its own space to rest while keeping everyone under one roof for meals and conversation. Tell the St John Condos team who is traveling and what each person needs, and they can help you find a layout and setup that fits your group.
How far ahead should a family from Keedysville start planning?
Larger groups usually benefit from starting early, since everyone has to agree on dates and coordinate schedules. Begin with the season and the length of stay, then settle the room arrangements. The St John Condos team can answer questions before you book, so you can sort out the details step by step.
