The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help travelers from Lacoochee, Florida, plan a long-awaited splurge at the Westin St John Resort, with a villa rented by the week and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.
Some trips are years in the making. For many families in Lacoochee, a stay on St. John is the kind of journey they talk about for a long time before they finally commit. Florida gives you a warm place to start from, and the Virgin Islands offer a very different kind of quiet, with clear water, hillside views, and a pace that feels like a real change of scenery. When you choose to splurge, the details matter. A villa rented by the week gives you room to spread out, cook a few meals, and settle into the rhythm of the island instead of rushing from one plan to the next. Our team at St John Condos can talk through which villa suits your group, so the trip you have imagined is the one you actually take.

Planning a splurge from Lacoochee
- Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little slack in your schedule for the transfers, and remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so take a moment to get comfortable with that before you head out on the roads.
- Choosing your season. Florida winters are mild by comparison, but the Virgin Islands have their own seasonal patterns that suit different travelers. Think about what you want most from the trip, whether that is calm water, cooler evenings, or a quieter stretch of the year. Once you have a sense of your priorities, the rest of the planning tends to fall into place more easily.
- Planning the stay. Think about your group before you pick a villa. Consider how many bedrooms you need, how much you want to cook, and whether you prefer a view or easy access to the resort grounds. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort are booked by the week, so mapping out your days ahead of time helps you use that time well. Ask us anything before you commit.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa rental worth it for a special trip from Florida?
For many travelers it is. A villa gives your group a private home base, a kitchen for simple meals, and space to relax together. Because villas are rented by the week, you can settle in and enjoy the island without moving around. Tell us what matters most to your group, and we will help you judge whether a villa fits your plans.
Will I need to plan transportation once I arrive on St. John?
Yes, it helps to think about getting around before you land. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which may feel unfamiliar at first. Many visitors arrange their ground transportation ahead of time so the first day runs smoothly. Our team can share what to expect and answer any questions you have before you book.
