Planning a beach trip from Hyattsville
- Reaching the island. Most visitors from Hyattsville fly into St. Thomas (STT), then take a taxi to Red Hook and catch the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. The ferry is the last leg before you reach the beach, so plan your luggage with that in mind. Packing light makes the transfer far easier, and you can ask the St John Condos team for guidance on what to bring.
- Choosing your timing. Leaving a Maryland winter behind is the main appeal, so many travelers from Hyattsville aim for the coldest months at home. Warm weather on the islands is steady through the year, which gives you flexibility. Think about your work schedule, school calendars, and how much rain you are willing to tolerate, then settle on a window that suits your group.
- Planning your stay. A villa rented by the week suits a beach-focused trip well, since you can build each day around sun, swimming, and rest. Consider whether you want a quiet first day or a full schedule from the start. Share your group size and interests with St John Condos before booking, and they will help you match your plans with the right Villa Rentals.
