The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, and many travelers from Freeport, Florida, reach out to plan a winter escape from the cold at a villa near the Westin St John Resort.

Freeport sits in the Florida Panhandle, where winters are mild compared with much of the country, yet many residents still feel the pull of a warmer horizon when the year turns gray. A winter escape to St. John gives you something different: clear water, a slower pace, and the ease of a place where the season barely registers as a season at all. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort let you settle in for a week or longer rather than rushing through a short stay. Think of the trip as a reset rather than a checklist. Mornings can be spent with coffee on a private terrace, afternoons drifting between shade and sun, and evenings unhurried. St John Condos can talk through which villa suits your group, how the rental is arranged by the week, and what to expect before anything is confirmed, so the planning feels like part of the rest.

Getting from Freeport to St. John

  1. Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors from Florida fly into St. Thomas, which is the airport code STT, and that is the gateway for almost everyone heading to St. John. Choose the connection that suits your schedule and comfort, and keep your carry-on ready for the short trip that follows. Your St John Condos contact can confirm the arrival steps that fit your villa booking.
  2. Cross to Red Hook. From the St. Thomas airport, a taxi carries you to Red Hook, the usual departure point for the passenger ferry. Drivers there are used to visitors with bags, so tell them your destination clearly. The ferry then brings you across to Cruz Bay on St. John, where the island's easy rhythm starts to show itself.
  3. Adjust to driving on the left. Once you are on St. John, remember that driving is on the left side of the road. Many visitors find this the most unfamiliar part of the journey, so take a moment before you pull away from the curb. If you would rather not drive at all, ask your villa contact what arrangements are practical before you arrive.
