The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps travelers from Coal Creek, Colorado, plan a three-generation trip to the Westin St John Resort, with villa rentals sized for grandparents, parents, and children to stay together under one roof.

Coal Creek sits in the West, and many families there know what it means to plan around distance, altitude, and a mix of ages. A trip to St. John asks for a different kind of planning, because the island is warm, green, and small, and the rhythm of the days changes once you arrive. For a group that spans three generations, the choices you make early on tend to shape how comfortable everyone feels by the end. Villa rentals suit a multigenerational group better than most arrangements, since everyone can have a bedroom, a shared kitchen, and a living space where people gather without feeling crowded. At the Westin St John Resort, the villas give you room to split up in the morning and come back together for a meal. St John Condos is a local team, and they are glad to talk through layouts before you book so the plan fits the people you are traveling with.

Planning your Coal Creek trip to St. John

  1. Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, where the airport code is STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay. With older relatives and young children, you may want to plan the transfers carefully and keep luggage manageable. Ask the St John Condos team about the connection that suits your group best before you commit to a route.
  2. Choosing when to go. The islands stay warm year round, so the season you pick usually depends on your schedules and your tolerance for crowds rather than on weather alone. Coming from a cold winter in Colorado, many families enjoy the change of scenery in the cooler months. Think through school calendars and the needs of your oldest traveler before settling on dates.
  3. Planning the stay. Villa rentals are arranged by the week, which gives a multigenerational group room to settle in rather than moving every few nights. Decide early who needs a ground-floor room, who wants quiet, and who will handle meals. Driving on St. John is on the left, so consider whether you will rely on taxis or rent a vehicle for outings.
