The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos rents villas at the Westin St John Resort and helps travelers from Barclay, Maryland, plan a long-awaited splurge before they book.
For many people in Barclay, a trip to the Caribbean stays on the list for years before it finally becomes a plan. A splurge like this deserves a stay that feels like it was worth the wait, with room to spread out, a kitchen for slow mornings, and a base close to the water. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort offer that kind of setting, and they suit a trip you have been thinking about for a long time. Maryland winters are cold and gray, which is one reason an island week tends to feel earned when it arrives. Most visitors on St. John fly into St. Thomas, which is the airport code STT, and then make their way across to the island. Once you arrive, you can settle into your villa and let the pace change. If you have questions about the trip before you commit, the St John Condos team is glad to talk them through.

Planning a splurge trip from Barclay
- Getting to the island. Most travelers from the Barclay area fly to St. Thomas, arriving at the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From Red Hook you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for the ferry schedule and leave some room in your day, because the last stretch is part of the fun. St John Condos can explain each step so nothing catches you off guard.
- Choosing when to leave. Maryland's cold months make the islands especially appealing, but the timing is yours to choose based on what you want from the week. Think about school calendars, work commitments, and how much you want to enjoy the warm weather without crowds. Once you settle on dates, check villa availability early, since a long-planned trip is often booked by people who waited just as long as you did.
- Planning the stay. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which gives you time to slow down and actually use the place. Decide early whether you want a kitchen for quiet breakfasts, how many people will be sharing the space, and what you hope to do on the island. Driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, so keep that in mind if you plan to rent a car. Ask the team anything before you book.
