Planning a Windham County trip to St. John
- Reaching the island. Most visitors from Connecticut fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT. From there, a taxi carries you to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry crosses to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan a little extra room for the transfers, and keep your important documents close at hand as you move between stops.
- Choosing your timing. Think about when Connecticut feels hardest to bear and when your calendar allows a full week away. Keep in mind that the Caribbean stays warm all year, so you can match your dates to school breaks or quieter periods at home. Send your preferred dates to the St John Condos team early, since they can talk through availability before you commit.
- Settling into your villa. Once you arrive, take time to learn the island rhythm. Driving on St. John is on the left, so think about whether you want a rental car or prefer to plan around the resort. Use your week to rest, swim, and share meals, and let the villa be the center of the trip rather than a place you only pass through.
