The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps travelers from Whitestone, Alaska, plan a milestone celebration on St. John, where villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week. Our local team answers questions before you book.

A milestone is worth marking somewhere that feels different from everyday life, and for many people in Whitestone that means a trip far from the cold and the long dark of an Alaska winter. St. John sits in the US Virgin Islands, where the climate stays warm through most of the year. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give you a private home base for a celebration, whether you are marking an anniversary, a big birthday, or a retirement. Planning from so far north takes a little thought, but it is manageable. Most visitors reach the island by flying into St. Thomas, then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay. Once you arrive, your villa gives you room to gather family or close friends, cook meals together, and slow down. Our team is glad to talk through the details with you before you commit to anything.

Planning your celebration from Whitestone

  1. Getting to St. John. Most travelers from Whitestone begin with a flight to St. Thomas, the airport code STT, and continue from there. A taxi carries you to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry crosses to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for a few connections and pack light, since the ferry is the simplest way to bring luggage across. Our team can help you sort out the final leg so the arrival feels easy after a long journey from Alaska.
  2. Choosing when to travel. Because Whitestone has cold winters, many families find the islands especially welcome in the colder months back home. Warm weather on St. John is a common draw year round, so pick the season that fits your guest list and your budget for the trip. If your milestone falls on a set date, work backward from it and leave room for travel days on either side. We are happy to talk through timing before you book.
  3. Planning the stay. Villas at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which suits a celebration with several days of gatherings. Choose a villa size that matches your group, and think about which rooms you want for shared meals and quiet time. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so plan rides carefully if you plan to get around by car. Let us know your dates and guest count, and we will help you choose.
