The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps friends from Watertown, Florida plan a relaxed week together at villas near the Westin St John Resort, and the local team is glad to answer questions before you book.
A week with friends works well on St. John, where villa rentals give everyone their own space while keeping the group together. Watertown travelers often find that a shared house suits the pace of a trip with people they know well, with room to cook, lounge, and spend the day however the group likes. The Westin St John Resort sits within easy reach, so you can mix time at the villa with time out on the water and around the island. Florida is a short trip away from the Caribbean in spirit, but the islands feel like a different world once you arrive. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, then take a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay. Plan your arrival with that route in mind, and keep in mind that driving on St. John happens on the left side of the road. Talking through the details with the St John Condos team before you commit can make the whole week feel easier.

Getting from Watertown to St. John
- Plan the route. Most travelers from Watertown fly into St. Thomas and then take a taxi to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Build in time for luggage, the ferry, and getting settled at your villa. Share the itinerary with everyone in the group so no one ends up on a different boat or without a ride.
- Pick your season. Florida winters are mild by comparison, but the Caribbean has its own rhythm of warm weather and rainy spells. Many friend groups prefer the calmer months for quieter beaches and easier booking. Think about what your crew enjoys most, whether that is sunshine all day, lively evenings, or long quiet mornings on the porch.
- Plan the stay together. Villa rentals are booked by the week, which suits a shared trip well. Decide early who handles the reservation, how costs will be split, and who needs a room with extra space. Ask St John Condos about the villa layout, what the kitchen offers, and how close you will be to the resort before you finalize anything.
Frequently asked questions
Can a group of friends from Watertown really share one villa comfortably?
Yes, many groups do exactly that. A villa gives everyone a private bedroom or bath, a shared living area for games and meals, and outdoor space to relax. Tell the St John Condos team how many people are traveling so they can point you to a villa with the right layout for your group.
Do I need a rental car to get around St. John?
Many visitors rent a car for flexibility, and you will drive on the left side of the road. The island is compact and winding, so take your time and plan trips with the group in mind. Ask the team for guidance on getting around from your villa before you arrive.
