Winter in Florida can still bring chilly mornings and a damp wind off the water, and many people in Verandah reach a point where they simply want warm air, bright sand, and a slower pace. A villa at the Westin St John Resort offers a different kind of winter, one where the days are gentle and the evenings are unhurried. Villa Rentals give you room to spread out, cook a simple meal, and wake up without a schedule. The island of St. John is part of the US Virgin Islands and is known for its quiet, green hillsides and clear water. Because it is a small place, the atmosphere stays relaxed even in the busiest weeks of the season. Getting from Verandah to St. John

  1. Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors from Verandah fly into St. Thomas, which is the airport code STT. From there you take a taxi to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry crosses to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan your connections with a little margin, since island schedules and luggage handling can vary, and keep your travel documents close at hand.
  2. Pick your moment to leave. Consider leaving Florida when the cold is strongest at home, since a winter departure often feels like the biggest change of scenery. Check the weather pattern for the islands in the weeks you are considering, and think about whether you want a quieter stretch of the season or a livelier one. Your local team can talk through the options with you.
  3. Plan the stay around the villa. Villa Rentals are booked by the week, so think about how many days you want to unwind and what you would like to do outside the villa. Driving on St. John is on the left, so take a moment to adjust before you set off. Keep the first day simple, stock a few basics, and let the island set the pace from there.
