The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps travelers from Thomaston, Connecticut, plan a milestone celebration at Villa Rentals on the Westin St John Resort, answering questions before you book.
A milestone is worth marking somewhere that feels different from an ordinary weekend, and for many people in Thomaston that means a trip far from the familiar hills and village streets of northwestern Connecticut. St. John, in the US Virgin Islands, offers warm water, quiet mornings, and a pace that lets a couple or a family slow down and actually be present with one another. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give you room to make the celebration your own, whether that means a long breakfast on a private deck, a dinner you plan around a favorite meal, or simply a week with no alarm clock. Because villas are rented by the week, you can settle in and let the trip become the celebration rather than a rushed item on a calendar.

Planning a milestone trip from Thomaston
- Reaching St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan this portion with a little breathing room, since island connections reward a relaxed approach, and keep your confirmation details handy for the ferry crossing.
- Choosing your timing. Connecticut winters are cold, so many travelers from Thomaston look toward the islands during the colder months, when the contrast with home feels especially welcome. Think about which dates fall near your anniversary or birthday, and talk through the season with the St John Condos team before you commit to a set of dates.
- Shaping the stay. Once you have dates, consider what the celebration needs most: privacy, space for guests, or a quiet base with a view. Remember that St. John drives on the left, so ask about driving before you arrive. Share your plans with the team, and they can help match a villa to the occasion.
