The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps travelers from Sopchoppy plan a week away with friends at villas near the Westin St John Resort, and the local team is glad to answer questions before you book.

A week with friends on a Caribbean island has a way of turning into the trip everyone talks about later. Sopchoppy sits in the Florida Panhandle, a long way from the water you will see on St. John, and that gap is part of the appeal. Villa rentals give your group a shared home base with room to spread out, cook together, and sit on a porch at the end of the day without anyone feeling squeezed. Rented by the week, a villa at the Westin St John Resort lets a group settle into island rhythms rather than rushing from one plan to the next. Some friends will want to swim before breakfast, others will prefer long lunches, and a house with several bedrooms makes room for both. The local team at St John Condos can talk through layouts and what each home is like so your group chooses with confidence.

Planning a week away from Sopchoppy

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and catch the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Plan for the transfer as a group so luggage and arrival times line up. Driving on St. John is on the left, so anyone renting a car should keep that in mind before setting out along the island roads.
  2. Choosing when to go. Your friends from Sopchoppy already know Florida's heat, but island weather follows its own pattern. Think about when everyone in your group can take a full week off, then compare that window with the seasons you prefer. Booking early gives you more choice of villas, and the St John Condos team can share which dates tend to fill quickly.
  3. Planning the stay. Sit down with the group before you arrive and agree on shared meals, grocery runs, and quiet time. Villa rentals work best when everyone knows the plan for the week. Decide who handles the rental car, who keeps the shared budget, and which evenings are for a group dinner, so the week feels easy from the first morning to the last.

Yes, many groups prefer a villa because it gives everyone private space and a common area to gather. Cooking together, sharing a pool, and having a home base can make the week feel more relaxed than a string of hotel rooms. The St John Condos team can help you match the number of bedrooms to your group.

Can I ask questions before I book a villa for a week away?

Absolutely. The local team at St John Condos answers questions before you book, including how villas are arranged, what the week will involve, and what to expect on arrival. Reaching out early helps your group make a clear decision together before dates start filling up.
