The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps travelers from Seldovia, Alaska, plan a milestone celebration on St. John at the Westin St John Resort, with villas rented by the week and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.

A milestone is worth marking somewhere that feels like a real change of scenery. For many people in Seldovia, that means leaving a small coastal town with a long Alaskan winter behind and spending a week on a warm island in the Caribbean. St John Condos works with travelers who want their celebration to feel personal, and villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort give a group room to gather, cook a meal together, and take the time the occasion deserves. Because the trip is about the people more than the logistics, it helps to settle the details early. Think about how many guests are coming, whether you want a quiet morning on a terrace or a full calendar of plans, and how much you want to handle yourself. Our team can talk through which villa suits your group and what to expect from the island before you commit, so the planning stays enjoyable rather than stressful.

Planning a milestone trip from Seldovia

  1. Getting to St. John. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT. From there, a taxi takes you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Plan for a little extra time on travel days so that connections feel easy, and keep your confirmations handy for the ferry crossing and your transfer to the resort.
  2. Choosing when to go. Alaska winters are long and dark, which is a big reason many families choose to celebrate in the islands during the colder months at home. Consider the season you most want to escape and the weather you hope to enjoy once you arrive. Tell our team the rough dates you have in mind, and we will help you weigh the options against your group's schedule.
  3. Planning the stay. Villa rentals are booked by the week, which suits a celebration well because everyone can settle in rather than rushing from place to place. Decide early who is coming, what kind of gatherings you want, and whether you plan to cook in or go out. Share those details with our local team, and we will help you match your group to a villa that fits the occasion.
