The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help families from Samoset, Florida, sort out villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort before you book, so the trip feels settled from the start.
Samoset sits in the Southeast, and for many families here a trip to the US Virgin Islands means a change of scenery that still feels close to home. Florida warmth is familiar, but a stretch of quiet island time with the whole household together is a different kind of break. A villa gives everyone room to spread out, cook a simple breakfast, and keep their own schedule. Families planning from Samoset often ask whether a villa suits them better than a standard hotel room. At the Westin St John Resort, villa rentals are the option most people choose when they want separate space for kids and adults, a kitchen for picky eaters, and a place to unwind at the end of a busy day. The local team at St John Condos walks through the layout and fit with you before anything is confirmed.

Planning a family trip from Samoset
- Reaching St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas (STT), then take a taxi to Red Hook and catch the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Keep car seats, strollers, and bags in mind when you pack, since the ferry and taxi ride are the simplest way to move everyone with gear. Driving on St. John happens on the left, so plan for that if you rent a vehicle with your villa.
- Choosing your travel season. Florida families know how heat and humidity shape a trip, and the islands run warm year round. Think about when your children are out of school, how crowded you want the beaches to feel, and whether a drier stretch of the year suits your plans better. Talk through these choices with the St John Condos team, who can help you match the season to your household.
- Planning your stay. Villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort are booked by the week, which gives a family room to settle in rather than moving every few nights. Make a rough list of what you want in the villa, such as bedrooms, a pool, or a grill, and share the ages of your children. The team can confirm what each villa offers so nothing surprises you on arrival.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa better than a hotel room for a family from Samoset?
Often, yes. Villa rentals give you separate sleeping areas, a kitchen for quick meals, and outdoor space where children can play. Many families from Florida find that the extra room makes the week feel more like a real vacation than a short visit, and the team can tell you which layouts suit your group.
Do I need to plan transportation before I leave Florida?
It helps to know your route early. Most travelers fly to St. Thomas, take a taxi to Red Hook, and ride the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. With children and luggage, you may want to plan carefully for the taxi and ferry legs. St John Condos can explain the options and what to expect on arrival.
