The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help travelers from Royal Palm Beach, Florida, plan a multigenerational trip to the Westin St John Resort, where villa rentals give grandparents, parents, and children room to gather and still keep their own space.
Traveling with grandparents, parents, and children takes a different kind of planning than a simple getaway. Everyone has different needs for rest, meals, and time alone, and a shared trip works best when the home base fits all of them. From Royal Palm Beach, many families in Florida already know the value of a relaxed warm-weather pace, and that same feeling carries over to St. John. A villa at the Westin St John Resort gives a multigenerational group room to spread out. Older relatives can have a quiet space to read in the morning, while younger family members head out for the day. Shared meals on a private terrace often become the best part of the week, and everyone can return to their own corner when they need a break. The local team at St John Condos can walk you through layouts before you book.

Planning a multigenerational trip from Royal Palm Beach
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, airport code STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. With several generations traveling together, plan seating, luggage, and mobility needs ahead of time. If you rent a car on the island, remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which is worth reviewing with everyone before you set off.
- Choosing when to go. Florida winters are mild, but the Virgin Islands follow their own seasonal rhythm, with warm temperatures most of the year. Think about school calendars, grandparents' comfort with heat, and whether children can travel during term time. Villas are typically rented by the week, so a steady stretch of days often suits a family better than a short weekend.
- Planning the stay. Talk with the whole group about what each generation wants from the trip before you choose a villa. Decide together on shared meals, quiet time, and outings. Ask the St John Condos team to help match bedroom arrangements and accessibility to your group, so that everyone finds comfort on the island and no one feels left out of the plans.
