The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos can help travelers from Point Possession, Alaska, plan a long-awaited island splurge at a villa near the Westin St John Resort, with local answers before you book.

A trip to the Virgin Islands can sit on a list for years before it finally becomes real. If you live in Point Possession, Alaska, you know that a warm Caribbean stay is a very different thing from the cold northern winters you are used to, which is part of why it feels like such a special choice. Many travelers from the far north save for this kind of trip on purpose, and they want the time away to feel like a true reward. Renting a villa for the week is one way to make that reward feel complete. Instead of fitting into a hotel room, you settle into a home base with room to unwind, cook a quiet dinner, and set your own pace. At the Westin St John Resort, Villa Rentals give you that private feeling while still keeping the resort's setting close at hand, so the splurge feels personal rather than generic.

Planning your island splurge from Point Possession

  1. Reaching the islands. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas (STT), then take a taxi to Red Hook and catch the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. From Point Possession, the journey is a long one, so plan connections with patience and build in a little slack. Once you land, remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which is worth a moment of thought before you take the wheel.
  2. Choosing your season. Point Possession sits in a cold northern climate, so the appeal of the islands is obvious in the darkest months of the year. Many travelers time their trip for the drier stretches when the weather is most inviting, but you can also think about what matters most to you, whether that is quiet mornings, calm water, or simply escaping the long winter. Pick the window that fits your own priorities rather than a generic rule.
  3. Planning the stay. Villas are rented by the week, so decide early how many days you want and whether you would like a longer stay. Think about what you want the villa to offer, such as space for the whole group, a kitchen for slow meals, or a view that makes mornings special. Share those details with the St John Condos team before you book, and they will help you match the right villa to your splurge.

Frequently asked questions

Is a villa a good choice for a special trip from Point Possession?

For many travelers coming from a cold northern home, a villa gives room to slow down. You can cook, relax on your own terms, and enjoy quiet evenings together. Villas are rented by the week, which suits a planned getaway well, and the St John Condos team can talk through which layout would work best for your group.

What should I know before booking from so far away?

Ask questions first. St John Condos answers them before you book, so you can confirm details about the villa, the week you want, and what is included.
