The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos answers questions for travelers from Panama City before you book, helping you plan a long-awaited splurge at a villa on St. John.
For many people in Panama City, a trip to the Virgin Islands has been something saved for and talked about for years. It can feel like a splurge in the best sense, a chance to slow down in a place that feels far from the everyday. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give you room to spread out, cook a few meals, and let the days set their own pace. Panama City sits on the Gulf side of the Florida Panhandle, so the warm water and sunshine of the islands will feel familiar in some ways and new in others. Because St. John is a small island, the planning matters more than usual. Talking through your dates, your group size, and your expectations with the St John Condos team before you commit can make the whole trip feel calmer.

Getting from Panama City to St. John
- Reaching the airport first. Most visitors from the area reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which is the airport code STT. From there, a taxi carries you to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry crosses to Cruz Bay. Plan your connections with some slack, since island travel rewards a relaxed attitude, and keep your documents close at hand for each step along the way.
- Picking the right season. Panama City is warm for much of the year, but the Caribbean has its own rhythm of wet and dry months. Think about whether you want peak sun, quieter shoulder weeks, or the lower crowds that often come with them. Your St John Condos contact can help you weigh those trade-offs against the dates you have available.
- Planning the stay itself. Villas are rented by the week, which suits a splurge trip that you want to savor rather than rush. Decide early whether you will rent a car, since driving on St. John is on the left side of the road. Share your group size and must-haves with the team so the villa you choose fits the trip you have imagined for years.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa rental a good fit for a special trip from Panama City?
For many travelers it is. A villa gives you space for a longer stay, a kitchen for slow breakfasts, and privacy that a hotel room may not offer. The St John Condos team can talk through whether Villa Rentals match what you picture for your celebration or getaway.
Do I need to plan everything before I leave Florida?
You do not need every detail settled, but a clear sense of your dates, group size, and budget helps a great deal. Reach out to St John Condos with your questions before booking, and the team can point out what to sort out first so nothing catches you off guard on the island.
