The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, and for travelers from North Miami, Florida, planning a long-awaited splurge on St. John, we can help you think through a villa stay at the Westin St John Resort.
For many people in North Miami, a trip to the Virgin Islands is something talked about for years before it finally happens. Florida's warm air and Atlantic coastline make the islands feel familiar in some ways, yet the pace of a stay on St. John is quite different from a busy weekend at home. Planning a splurge like this gives you room to slow down, to choose a villa that feels like your own, and to let the trip be the reward for the years of waiting. A villa rental at the Westin St John Resort is a different kind of holiday from a hotel room. Villa rentals are booked by the week, so you settle in, unpack properly, and set your own rhythm each morning. For travelers from North Miami, who already know the value of a good home base in the sun, this approach often feels like the most natural way to mark a long-planned milestone.

Planning Your Splurge From North Miami
- Reaching the island. Most visitors from North Miami fly to St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Keep your luggage manageable for the ferry, and expect that the last stretch of the journey is part of the adventure. Once on island, remember that driving is on the left, which may take a moment to get used to.
- Choosing your timing. Florida's climate is warm for much of the year, so you may find that the islands feel similar in comfort to home, though the trade winds and the quieter pace are distinct. Think about when you want a long-planned splurge to land on your calendar, and weigh the things that matter most to you, such as quieter weeks, steady weather, and how far ahead you want to book. Our team is glad to talk through those choices with you.
- Planning your villa stay. Because villas are rented by the week, decide early how many days you want to fully settle in and whether you want a longer stay to make the trip feel unhurried. Tell us what matters most for your villa, from the layout to the kind of quiet you want, and we will help you compare options at the Westin St John Resort. Those details shape how your Villa Rentals experience will feel from the first evening on.
