The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help travelers from New Stuyahok, Alaska, plan a long-awaited splurge at the Westin St John Resort, with villas rented by the week and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.
For many people in New Stuyahok, a trip to the Caribbean sits on the list for years before it finally happens. Alaska is a long way from the US Virgin Islands, and the gap between a cold northern winter and warm island water can make a tropical stay feel like something reserved for a special season of life. If you have been saving the idea for a while, you are not alone in treating it as a true splurge. The Westin St John Resort offers a setting that suits that kind of planned trip. Villa Rentals through St John Condos give you a place of your own to unpack, cook, and settle in for days at a time, rather than a series of short hotel stays. Renting by the week means you can slow down and let the island set the pace, which is often what people from a place like New Stuyahok are hoping for.

Planning your island escape from New Stuyahok
- Reaching St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan your connections from New Stuyahok with a little extra room, since a trip this far often involves more than one leg and a night of rest along the way.
- Choosing your season. The islands stay warm year round, so the question is more about the trip you want than the weather. Many travelers from northern places prefer to leave during the deepest part of an Alaska winter, when the contrast feels most rewarding. Think about your work, family, and budget, then pick the window that lets you enjoy the stay without rushing.
- Planning the villa stay. Villa Rentals are booked by the week, so decide early how long you want to stay and how many people are coming. Ask St John Condos about the villa layout, what is included, and anything you want to know before you commit. Because driving on St. John is on the left, consider how you will get around before you arrive.
